Chelsea Rose Pires, M.A., LMFT

Chelsea Rose (she/her) graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles Honors College with a B.A. in psychology in 2007, and received her master’s degree in Integral Counseling Psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies in 2012. She has a passion for harm reduction as a therapeutic and practical approach to drug use and abuse prevention. Chelsea has worked with the Zendo Project, providing psychedelic peer support at events around the world, since 2013. Chelsea also manages the reagent drug testing kit program at DanceSafe, a public health organization focused on safety in the night life community. Additionally, she supervises the Crisis Response Team in Nevada County, supporting clients who come into the emergency room in psychiatric crisis. She lives in the Sierra foothills of California with her husband, three children, and their Basenji pup named Mochi.

Dr Rick Strassman

Rick Strassman, born in 1952 in Los Angeles, graduated with honors in biological sciences from Stanford University in 1973 and earned his medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 1977. He completed his psychiatry residency at UC Davis, receiving the Sandoz Award in 1981. He conducted clinical psychopharmacology research and held academic positions at UC Davis and the University of New Mexico (UNM). At UNM, he pioneered research on melatonin and psychedelic drugs, including DMT, receiving NIH support and attaining tenure before leaving in 1995.

Strassman’s book DMT: The Spirit Molecule sold over 250,000 copies and inspired a documentary. He has authored multiple books and over 40 peer-reviewed papers. A consultant for federal agencies and psychedelic startups, he serves on scientific advisory boards and remains Clinical Associate Professor of Psychiatry at UNM. Since 2008, he has focused on writing and resides in Gallup, New Mexico.

Dyl👽Alien is a San Francisco-based artist whose musical journey has been anything but ordinary. A pioneer of the WestPsy genre, he blends psytrance, techno, and West Coast bass music into transformative sonic experiences that transport listeners to otherworldly dimensions!
For over 20 years, Dyl👽Alien served as the leader of Party Babas, the event company behind Goa Gil’s legendary ritual gatherings in California. His music has long been a central part of these ceremonies, with Goa Gil himself frequently urging him to share it with a wider audience.
In 2025, Dyl👽Alien is stepping into a new era, releasing his long-awaited debut solo work to the world. With three albums on the horizon, this marks his first time officially sharing his music outside of Goa Gil’s iconic gatherings. Hamilton Morris

Hamilton Morris is an American journalist, documentarian, and researcher known for creating Hamilton's Pharmacopeia, a series exploring the chemistry, history, and cultural impact of psychoactive drugs. Born in New York City and raised in Cambridge, Massachusetts, he studied anthropology and chemistry at the University of Chicago and The New School. His interest in psychoactive substances began in his teens, inspired by online resources like Erowid.

Morris started writing for Vice in college, later hosting a column and documentaries on psychoactive drugs. He worked as a producer for Vice on HBO until 2021, when he joined Compass Pathways as a chemistry consultant. He conducts pharmacological research at Saint Joseph's University, focusing on dissociative anesthetics. Coauthoring scientific papers, Morris contributed to a landmark 2023 study on serotonergic psychedelics and the 5-HT2A receptor.

Joshua White

Executive Director of the Fireside Project

Joshua (he/him) is Fireside Project’s Founder. He is a lawyer, peer support advocate, and psychedelic researcher who believes in the power of peer support and the role of support lines as foundational components of an equitable mental-health ecosystem.

Prior to founding Fireside Project, Joshua volunteered for many years as a counselor on Safe & Sound’s TALK Line and a psychedelic peer support provider for the Zendo Project.

Before devoting his life to the psychedelic field, Joshua spent more than a decade as a Deputy City Attorney at the San Francisco City Attorney’s Office, where he focused on suing businesses exploiting vulnerable communities, serving as general counsel to City departments, and co-teaching a nationally renowned clinic at Yale Law School. He also clerked on the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and practiced civil litigation at Conrad | Metlitzky | Kane.

Rick Doblin PhD

Rick Doblin, Ph.D., is the Founder and President of the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS). He received his doctorate in Public Policy from Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government. His undergraduate thesis at New College of Florida was a 25-year follow-up to the classic Good Friday Experiment. He also conducted a thirty-four year follow-up study to Timothy Leary’s Concord Prison Experiment. Rick studied with Dr. Stanislav Grof. He founded MAPS in 1986, and currently resides in Boston with his wife and puppy, with three empty rooms from his children who have all graduated college and begun their life journeys.  Tom Feegel, is a career entrepreneur and co-founder of Beond Ibogaine, a premium ibogaine-assisted treatment and research facility in Mexico that serves clients suffering from trauma & PTSD, addiction, and those striving for improved health and optimization. Beond Ibogaine is equal parts hospital, rehabilitation center, retreat and resort serving a diverse patient population simultaneously.  Previously, Tom served as partner at two of the leading management consulting firms focused on innovation, and as the CEO of EO Products, the largest plant-based personal care company, and as a founding executive at Brandless, a SF-based venture backed e-commerce company that delivers better-for-you (organic, gluten-free, environmentally sustainable) consumer goods to the world at $3.

A father of five, Tom is married and spends most of his time in Mexico.

Valerie Beltrán, M.A., LMFT

Valerie (she/her) is an EMDR therapist and supervisor who walks a mystical path with grounded feet while integrating psychedelics, technology, and spirituality in her private practice. Valerie was formerly the Chief of Staff for an eco-tech entrepreneur, Head of Operations for the conscious tech startup Consciousness Hacking, a trauma trainer and consultant with WestEd, an Academic advisor at JFKU, and Associate Organizer for the Integral Theory Conference. She completed CIIS’s Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy & Research program in 2019, and has been a supervisor at Alchemy Therapy since 2020, a sliding scale clinic that offers psychotherapy and psychedelic-assisted therapy to underserved communities in the Bay Area.

Wendy Tucker

Board Chair of the Shulgin Foundation - Wendy Tucker is Ann Shulgin’s daughter. She worked for many years with Sasha, doing research, working with him in the lab, and running Transform Press. She is an artist like her mother, husband, and daughter, owns Transform Press, and manages a chiropractic office. She has spearheaded the effort to preserve the farm, the home of Sasha and Ann and the location of the historic lab, and has created the nonprofit, “Shulgin Farm.”
